Hey everyone. I'm taking this opportunity to give a quick update on my future with The Oscar Buzz. I know that I generally take a month off, but this year has been a little hectic between personal affairs, including college. You've probably also noticed that I haven't exactly been quiet either, choosing to release columns for A24 A-to-Z and Composing Greatness with some regularity. Well, I am proud to say that I am planning on coming back gradually as the summer approaches with regular coverage, reviews, and all things that are fun about film. I have a few changes as well in store, all of which I will get into after the jump.

Welcome to The Birthday Take, a column dedicated to celebrating Oscar nominees and winners' birthdays by paying tribute to the work that got them noticed. This isn't meant to be an exhaustive retrospective, but more of a highlight of one nominated work that makes them noteworthy. The column will run whenever there is a birthday and will hopefully give a dense exploration of the finest performances and techniques applied to film. Hello everyone. As I feel the need to do every now and then, I am here to share a quick update of everything that's going on over at The Oscar Buzz. I do apologize if it does seem like I am not producing as much work as I normally do, as I am currently juggling this blog (as well as Optigrab) with school. However, I have noticed that we have entered September, and it's time to get serious about all things Oscar. It has been a fun summer with plenty of great movies. But what is going to stick around and make a difference? The following is a quick rundown of ideas that I hope to get around to as this Oscar season rolls on and things become much clearer.

Hello everyone. I wish to apologize for my extended absence. I usually post an open letter detailing why I'm going away, but plum forgot to do so this time. As long time readers know, I like to take a break after each Oscar season. This involves stopping the blog for about a month (in this case, a little over one) to focus on other endeavors. While it will be awhile until The Oscar Buzz is back up in top form for Oscar Season 2017, I hope to have a fun way to pass the time until the big hits start rolling in and we're forced to prognosticate what the big players will be. For now, I'll run down what to expect for the next few months as well as my intentions on ways to improve the blog.
