It has only been a month since this year's Academy Awards. However, there is plenty of time to prepare and think of next year's ceremony. In fact, it's a good time to think about the next few years. In a recent announcement, The Academy has announced the dates for the major events for this Oscar season. Among the changes is moving Oscar Sunday 2018 from the familiar grounds of February to March. They will also be bringing back their Oscar concerts as well as various other events. While little else is known about what these events will hold, the following is a list of the important dates to mark off to make your upcoming Oscar Season a successful one.
The following is the list for Oscar Season 2017:
Nov. 11, 2017: Governors Awards
Jan. 5, 2018: Nominations voting opens
Jan. 12, 2018: Nominations voting closes
Jan. 23, 2018: Oscar Nominations Announcement
Feb. 5, 2018: Oscar Nominees Luncheon
Feb. 10, 2018: Scientific and Technical Awards
Feb. 20, 2018: Finals voting opens
Feb. 27, 2018: Finals voting closes
Feb. 28, 2018: The Oscar Concert
Mar. 4, 2018: 90th Oscars
Along with these dates, the Oscar Sundays through 2021 have been announced. Unlike 2018's ceremony, they will all be held in February. The dates are:
Feb. 24, 2019
Feb. 23, 2020
Feb. 28, 2021
So get marking those dates down on your calendars and prepare for another fun season of Oscar prognostication.
